WHY WOMEN?
WHY YOU?
I’ve known for years that women like you who have participated in sports come to the work world with skills, abilities, and experiences that position you better for success than non-athletes. Women, in general, have the attributes our clients want and need: we are relational, we like to educate, we are empathetic, and we are planning-oriented. Modern Wealth Management draws upon these foundational attributes as we create and nurture our relationships with our clients and their families.

WHY ATHLETES?
YOU'VE DEVELOPED AN ADVANTAGE.
Sports have helped you develop a range of competencies and skills that offer you a significant advantage that you may not know you have. These attributes, I believe, make you an excellent fit for building a career in Wealth management. Often, female athletes take these for granted because they’re so good at them. You come to the workplace supercharged!
WHAT SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES DO I BELIEVE YOU POSSESS?
I know that sports help women develop powerful skills and capabilities, all of which are needed and required to succeed in Wealth Management. Wealth Management is a challenging but highly rewarding career. Your dedication to being the best, being a great teammate, and stopping at nothing to succeed, get better, and win makes athletes like you right for this work and this great career. And the athletes I have hired love being in Wealth Management! This is why I recruit female athletes. This is why I started the Climb-Pause-Lift Foundation.
COME, BE A CLIMB PAUSE LIFTER:
THE PLAYING FIELD OF SUCCESS AWAITS YOU
The Wealth Management Industry is at a pivotal moment. Over a third of the Financial Advisors will retire in the next decade. To successfully transition their practices to the next generation of Advisors, the inheriting teams must reflect the clients they will be serving. And they must recognize that the next generation of clients doesn’t look like the last generation.
I believe female athletes are a source of talent desperately needed in the near and long term. Here’s why:
We are in the midst of the rise of the SHEconomy. Strong examples of the expanding influence of women in our economy are readily evident:
-
Today, women are earning more bachelor’s degrees than men and having fewer children, later in life, providing them more time to build their careers.
-
By the end of this decade, 45% of working women will be single – the largest share in history.
-
Currently, women are the primary breadwinners in 40% of all households and
-
Women constitute 50% of all homeowners – which we expect to expand as the percentage of women in the workforce continues to grow.
The teams our Financial Advisors form to build theirWealth Management practices MUST be attuned to the needs and expectations of the evolving female client demographic or they will lose clients to those who do.
Over the last ten years, I've talked to many male advisors about why it's important to have women on their teams. The common response is, "I'd like to have a woman on my team, but I just can't find one." I think this happens because (1) they don't know where to look, and (2) young people, in general, don't know much about our industry and the incredible change they'd be able to effect through a career in Wealth Management.
Let's change that together.
"No one… I repeat… NO ONE… can succeed or build a career alone. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the wonderful women who have lifted me up. My path continues to have plenty of people helping pave the way for my progression, so it is only right that I turn around and help do the same for others. “Lifting” can be by opening doors, educating others, or becoming a sounding board for those trying to map out their next move. We are in this together and can truly achieve wonderful things by working with those before and after us. "
